I started my business originally back in 2020. Bad time for a startup, right in the pandemic. Having my own business made it a bit easier to juggle parenting and work life, but I didn't really start building up my company until May last year.
The way I found Tech Tribe was through a colleague, actually. We worked together earlier at a call centre, and he'd been showing me a few of the clips and stuff on YouTube from Tech Tribe.
"Getting my first at least bigger client, was really a load off my mind."
And when I started my business, I was looking at resources to help me grow marketing guides, because I'm hopeless with marketing, and both the content they provide and also the community has been great.

The marketing part, I usually try and get in half an hour or an hour each day, just try and do some marketing. It's the least favourite part. I'm a technical person, so yeah, it's the hardest part, yeah, definitely. Tools I've had most use of from Tech Tribe when it comes to marketing is probably the marketing packs they give out each month, and also using them with Growably. It helps automate a lot of the key stuff, posting content on social media and stuff like that. And also their blog function for websites to automatically push out new blog posts, and that's been a lifesaver.
Getting my first at least bigger client, was really a load off my mind because it made my days a lot easier, because it's a safety net that I know with this client, I'll at least have what I need to be able to build forward. Probably the way I handle cold calls and stuff like that, at least for me, and I think for a lot of people in this industry as well, it's hard because it's a threshold you have to get over. A lot of the discussion that happens in the Tribe really helps you get over that threshold, and it's okay to reach out to offer your services as well.
At least for me, as a single person business, having that kind of safety net with other people that are in the same industry, and many in the same position as me, there's this great community that there's at least 10 people within the hour that can give you a good answer to whatever you're wondering. But I think the main selling point, at least for new businesses, are all the templates that the Tech Tribe provides and also the tribal perks. There's a lot of good software you can get at a really great discount as a Tech Tribe member.
